An article on KrebsOnSecurity reveals a money laundering scheme using fake books on Amazon. Books filled with nonsense text are self-published with multi-hundred dollar price tags. Money launders publish these books through Createspace and then purchase their own books with stolen credit cards. The "author" receives royalties from Amazon deposited directly into their bank account.
A study published in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin surveyed 4,000 millionaires to determine the link between money and happiness.
From the PsyPost article about the study, the researcher says:
“The general finding is that more money does lead to more happiness,” Donnelly explained to PsyPost. “So, while we’ve believed before there is diminishing marginal utility, the curve doesn’t diminish as quickly as we once thought — and even when basic needs have been met, acquiring more wealth does increase happiness.”
